This is My Stock Trading Journey

  1. Hi!
I stumbled across your blog in my research to find out more info/reviews about NeUVenture. I wanted to thank you for giving your honest feedback on the Seminar I. I heard the same ad by David Mitchell for their 2 day Seminar being held in my city in a few months. It sounds like a 2 day commercial on the other products they offer, which I’ve found to be about $10K. That’s expensive. I’m still interested in what the Seminar 1 can offer, given my desire to learn more about trading.

I know you mentioned having attended Seminar 2 as well. Did you ever end up completing the full Top Gun program? What was your experience with Seminar 2. And has the investment in the 2 trainings paid off?

I’m a mother as well and would like to be a stay at home trader mom. I’d be interested to know how many hours do you actively work at trading? Its really great to know that other women are taking an interest in it.

I wish you much success in your trading journey.

    • Hi Editha! So good to hear from you and great questions. That is one of the reasons I created this site, because when we were first joining NVOWs we couldn’t find any actual students to talk to online to get some feedback. We only had enough money to do Flight School which is Seminar 1 and 2 only. I will need to write a review on Seminar 2 soon. The quick answer is it is a combination of review from Seminar 1, teaching of options (puts and calls) and more selling. It was nice to have options taught in a clear easy to understand way. Basically like anything they teach you could learn it on your own but you would have to wade through A LOT of info on the internet and in books and do trial and error or you can pay and have them spoon feed you. One thing to consider is the investment will possibly far excede 10K because if you want to be an ‘insider’ and get David Mitchells charting lines, market alerts, stock picks and coaching that will be an additional $50 a month. If you want to use charting software that will probably be another $30 a month. If you want to do any stock or option webinars that will be thousands. If you want to do the coaching webinar that will be $20 a month and if you join Top Gun and have to travel to the Seminar 3+4 and entity seminar that will be travel and lodging expenses. Just wanted to give you a heads up. You can decide on all those details at a later time.
I am a stay at home trader mom of one little boy. I think I probably trade around 2-3 hours a day. Usually before the open I spend time looking through news and futures. Then I watch the open and I’m in and out the next 2 hours usually looking through charts for stocks approaching good buy points. I use his naps to really go through charts. Then in the evening my husband and I often look through charts looking for possible stocks for the next day and studying trading material whether that be Neuventure seminar books or other investment books or listening to earnings, etc.
In the coming months I will have more information posted specifically addressing being a stock trading mom. Please feel free to ask me any other questions.

  2. Hi,

I just stumbled across your blog and read your June wrap up. A short bit about me, I am male, a former pastor, I live in California, I have a wife and daughter (we would like more children, but it seems that may not be God’s plan) I work with in the biological sciences and I trade. Oh, and one other thing. I love to help people. I’m a counselor and encourager. Any endeavour undertaken is better with people who care about one another. Don’t you think?

If you would like to speak to me about charting, stocks, support, resistance, and options; including vertical spreads, straddles, strangles, calendars, the greeks, exits, entry’s, money management, and everything in between, I would be happy to be a supportive voice in the wilderness of electrons. As you may know there is so much more than long calls or short puts. I would be glad to help you and your husband with general and specific advice. You can increase your 5.5%. Like Reddit you can “Ask Me Anything”. You can email me back with the email I have given you. I’d rather not post it here.

In Him. To God the Glory.

  3. Just wondered what kind of returns you are getting. I am exploring new ventures to see if I want to go to their seminar. I need any help I can get along this journey.

    Evan

  4. Thank you soooo much! Your info is just what I needed to make the decision whether to ‘jump or get off the high dive’. Took seminar I over a year ago and want to do trading full time to replace my current job, but based on your info, this is NOT the way to go at this time. If I just read the reviews on NVOWS, then it would seem that I could make enough money trading to pay the debt of taking courses and replace my income. All this with only a few hours a day, and the rest of the day on the golf course. (I’m sure I heard it promoted that way in the seminar.) After reading your real, current info, (seeking counsel from multiple sources), I will reconsider. Speaking for my situation, I know that the Lord has given me skills in a different area, as well as a love for what I do, and the ability to make a good living in this career. Now I will seek His advise as to how to excel in what He has given me. But in the meantime, I appreciate your advise on reading and STU8 and will pursue learning on my current budget. Blessings to you and your family!

    • Thank you Sue for telling us a little of your story and the decision God led you to. It’s so great how we’re all unique with different talents and gifts. When we seek God and ask him for wisdom he is so faithful to give it. I’m excited for you as God leads you to use the talents he’s given you!

  5. Hey! I’ve been trying to email you but I keep getting a rejected message that says your inbox is full so I’m emailing you through the website. Here is my email I’ve been trying to send.

    Hey Wendy,

Just checking in. It’s been a while. I’ve got over seven months of law school under my belt. Finished my midterms in January and got back to the market in Feb. I didn’t trade from December through January because of the holidays and I was studying for midterms. I didn’t need the distraction. Anyway I’ve been back trading for two months now and I’m doing well.

How’s the new house and the family?

    In Him,
    tom

  6. Hello Wendy.
I found your website by doing a search on VNOWS reviews.
I was really impressed with your website and enjoyed reading all about you & your family and your followers.

I too am a Christian and was recommended by a friend of mine to check out nvows.com over 5 years ago. I had been investing in stocks for the past 15 years but never really had much success at it so I decided that maybe some formal training would help.

I live in Katy, Tx so at the first opportunity I could I attended Seminar I where David Huber had me all excited about how easy it is to make money and how he was able to pay off his college debt in a matter of a few years. I had my doubts because I asked him a question regarding a “wash sale” and he said he had never heard of that but would find out. hmmm, that should have been a red flag.
But he continued to tell us how elite it is to be accepted as a “Top Gun” student and that only a few of us would be selected. If you wanted to get in though we all had a write a full page paper on why we thought we should be accepted into the “elite” group. How deceitful! There were a total of ten of us who paid and became Top Gun. Of course after spending $11,000 for Top Gun, $4,000 for The Perfect Play, and then the $12,000 for the Paradise in Hawaii after one year I had not made a profit in the market. I would call in and speak with someone as to what I did wrong with a particular trade and get the same response, “well, you did the play right but I can’t tell you why it didn’t work.”

After studying and working my butt off for the past 5 years I have finally started making it work for me. But it wasn’t easy. I read several book on Jesse Livermore and if he could do it then I should be able to. He did go broke several times but learned from his mistakes. I can honestly say that I have done the same thing.

Mostly, I regret the money that I invested in NeuVenture and feel like I was taken advantage of. There are so many other places that offer the same information but at a cheaper price.
So I want to share my knowledge with other Christians who want to learn how to invest so that they don’t get taken advantage of.

Some of David’s tactics are okay but there are several things that he does not teach that are important. He also advocates the “Reverse & Hold” rule when a credit trade goes against you which should only be done with certain criteria. There are better ways to protect your investment than to buy back the option you sold and keep the one that you bought.
The fact that he encourages to use a platform like eOption and TeleChart only adds to his exploitation and disregard for people’s finances. Using their Excel sheet to find the correct options chain is ridiculous and time consuming. I would much rather pay a little higher premium for something like ThinkOrSwim to find the options contract that I want by giving me all of the Greeks instantly than to spend the time on the Excel sheet.

I have my own business, http://www.globalsysintserv.com and am sending you this email from India since I am here currently on a small project. I will be back next month. It was only because of my business that I was able to afford David’s high cost of training. I feel really bad for those families who are on a really tight budget that spent that kind of money.
For the past year I have been developing a new website to help others to trade successfully at an affordable price. I do NOT want to see other people, especially Christians, be taken advantage of and have their hard earned money taken from them from someone who claims to be a Christian but practically robs them of their money. This website will become active within the next month or two.

My goal is to get this website up and running (by the way my investment company’s name is Starboard Securities, LLC since I’m an avid sailor, veteran, and pilot. 😉 and offer my own seminars that have taken me years to perfect. On this website I was thinking of having a way to allow people within a geographical area to express interest in a specific seminar and if there were at least 20 people interested then I would fly my personal plane to that area and give them the seminar. This way is much more feasible for people who want to learn but cannot afford David’s high prices or to travel to a specific area.

My seminars (I, II, & III) offer much more and specific trades than what David teaches and only cost in the hundreds and not the thousands of dollars range. The seminars are broken into basic stock trading, options and spreads but you DO NOT need to have taken the first two seminars to take Seminar III.
I’m also working on a Seminar IV which goes more into details about specific calculations for support and resistance levels and how the are important to prices. This is a level that David doesn’t teach.

I sincerely hope that you will respond to my suggestions and thoughts here and if it is something that you think you would promote once I get it up and running.

I would be happy to talk to you upon my return or even fly up to meet with you and your family.

I’m not doing this to make a huge amount of money. I only want to cover my expense for sharing and to help spread the knowledge that David is charging so much for.

In case your wondering, I do not plagiarize anything that David teaches. My presentations are original and from my own experiences and knowledge.

Thank you for your time and I hope to hear back from you.

      • Thank you for taking the time to comment especially considering my email was being troublesome again. Thank you for giving me a heads up on that too. The problem has been corrected. I have heard very little feedback on my blog from “Top Guns” so I’m glad you shared your experience and I’m sure it will be helpful to many. Please feel free to email me anytime as it should be working now and I look forward to talking further over email. Oh and where in India are you? I spent some time in Pune and still support a dear missionary friend I made there.

  7. Great to find your blog! I haven’t the time or energy to create a blog right now so I’m glad to find a place I can share with, and learn from, other traders.

I look forward to being here,

  8. Thank you for your comments, they are right on target these people are about the same as ON LINE TRADING ACADEMY. I had Thanksgiving dinner today with my brother in law who is a retired Baptist Minister and a retired Lt. Col US Army. He brought up the subject that he was going to Ft. Worth Fri & Sat Dec. 3 & 4th 2015,
to attend a NeUventure seminar for a $99.00 cost. I have been trading stocks almost everyday for several years with a Scotrade on line account, but did not want to tell him i thought it was probably a high pressure rip off , after reading the reviews, that is my opinion. I am going to direct him to your web page and other reviews about NeUventure.
I agree with you, the best way to learn about swing trading , investing or day trading is to read hundreds of good books and hundreds of hours on the internet (tons of good information there) open a small account at first and learn to be very very patient and only buy pull backs of solid, wide mote ,companies. They all swing up and down, why not swing with the safest. I have traded JNJ about 30 times this year and so far not a single loss, it is a basket that i feel safe putting a lot of eggs.
You sound like a wonderful Christian person. God bless you and Good Luck.

    Doyle Johnson, Nocona Texas

    • Doyle,
Thanks for your concern and the tip on JNJ.

Here is my assessment of NeUventure:
As I went into Seminar 1 only after considering it for about a year, all the while surfing the web about them and listening to David’s radio program, I went to the seminar to draw what I could from it. I must admit I was at first a bit disappointed that what I had read about the subsequent seminar costs was true. It would be easy, from the mindset of the average person, to consider the pricing as a rip-off of major proportion – if all the “investment” didn’t pan out. If, however, at the end of ALL the seminars, one uses that training to become a millionaire through trading, it would have confirmed the value of the training. Consequently, I reserve judgment on NeUventure.

I will say this, though. Top Gun constitutes an expense most of God’s people can’t afford. Dismissing my disappointment, I simply prayed during Seminar 1 for the wisdom and discernment to allow me to gather what I could from those two days. God’s Providence had actually already begun before I praised Him for it: The seminar presenter was Myron Golden, one who I intend to get to know better through his (you guessed it – free) YouTube video presentations on wealth-building. As a pastor and Bible teacher, he is superb, with a keen insight into biblical principles, as well as the motivation to encourage [So, I suggest everyone check out his online “freebies” and his heart of gold.]. The ultimate “take-away” from last weekend for me was a real wealth of biblical insight and what I see as a real connection to a brother in the Lord. The value of THAT — priceless! So, I guess one could say that I came away a winner.

This may be the most valuable INDEX we can regularly study: God’s Word, as it prompts us to pray for His wisdom and it discloses His Providence.

  9. Hi!

Loved your post. I like to learn about computers and people involved in Stocks and their journey of how they get involved, what they learned in starting months and so on.

Would be a regular visitor of your blog now onwards.

  10. Hi my name is Arieunte Simpson I gather some information from a good coworker of mines and I was interested in joining one of the seminars to learn about the trades and learn how to manage money and meet new people.

  11. I’M starting step 1 start your journey late June.i am a little confused though.i want to get into options trading.is there a separate course for that or would I have to go register for another start your journey course.please give me some advice.thank you!

    • They will make you take step 1 first and then you can purchase step two for about 5-6,000 or you can get all the rest for the steps 2-4 for about 10-12,000. Its a very expensive way to learn options going with Tradeway. I found Tradesmart University after I took Tradeway courses and you can learn much more from Tradesmart university on your own time schedule at home and it will only cost you a few hundred dollars. Victor please be cautious. Tradeway talks really big during step one. You can learn so much from them about thinking outside the box and not just focusing on the 9-5. They teach you about taking risks and that is important. But then they talk about people making all this money and I’m telling you Victor that is not the norm and you might be the exception but you probably aren’t. I have only met 2 successful stock traders and they both started with Tradeway but it wasn’t nearly enough and they had to learn much more on their own to become successful. You will not be successful in this unless it becomes your passion. Trust me. Please read around my website and look at comments and pray so you can make the wisest choice for you. Don’t get caught up in Step 1 hype.
